I think either works just fine. I would probably say "there" myself, but as long as you had already left the prior station so there was no possibility of confusion, I'd understand he was already thinking about "Tokyo" as being "here."

Marius HancuI'd use here, as you're closing in to it.I understand what you mean. If I had missed to get off at the prior station, I would have said 'I had to get off there.' In this case there means the prior station, I suppose.
