Grammar

here the usage "an amount of ' is correct?

If is it correct form to use "an amount of"
or we'd better to change it on "a sum of" ?

"Please sanction an amount of $10..."
"Please pay an amount of $15 at the cash counter"....

Thanks

Do not use 'sum of'

"Please pay the amount of $15 to the cashier / at the cash desk."
