"here is my take"

I often come across "here is my take" in some of your posts. I have a general understanding of this phrase, but to be exact (correct word?) precisely what does it mean?

Thanks in advance

It means something like: "for whatever it's worth here is my opinion on the matter"

Just guessing. I've always assumed it was a photographic derivitive, though there's been no particular reason to confirm or deny.

You take a snapshot. That's what you've extracted from the scene. (There's also "take one; take two" in cinematic photography - an attempt to finalize a scene, or encapsulate the essence of something.)

How do you look at this?? (Here's my snap

I think you're pretty close with your reference to the cinematic term.
