But there is no object in that clause, so why have you said "her" is correct?

Hi

The verb 'to be' acts in strange ways in English. Technically, there is no object: I am I and you are you. However, in practice, we do tend to put the object form to the right of it, and there's nothing wrong with that ...

- I was just being me

- I knew it was her

In normal English, most people would use "her".

Some people may argue that "she" is technically correct, but at best it sounds formal, and at worst pedantic.
