What a painting conveys is in direct relation to the period within which it has formed. In other words, the cultural signs that are present in each painting are congruent with the lifetime of its painter. In conceptual systems, the meaning of each sign is created by its placement beside other signs and has no meaning in itself. Hence in a painting too, the meaning of the painting will become known from the internal relationship between the signs, and not from the subject it entails.
