Hen pecked *** whipped

Hi.
what is the difference between hen pecked and *** whipped?
As far as I know, both describe a man who is subservient and obdient to his wife.

In the usage I'm familiar with, the vulgar expression is more often applied in the case of a girlfriend than a wife.

The more innocent expression is used exclusively for the case of a wife.
