How do we call a place where people meet together and set off to other places.

they are business partners and have a site visit, but they need to find a place meeting together first.

actually the place is just for gathering and then we will take the shuttle for a site visit.

So, can i just use the term assembly point .

I think, 'Let's rendezvous at [meeting point] where we'll catch the shuttle' would be very acceptable speech.

Thus, it's the rendezvous point.

You find 'meeting points' at large railway stations, in the UK at least (and 'assembly points' where people are supposed to gather during fire drills).

You could also refer to such a 'meeting point' as 'the venue' or 'a pre-decided venue'.

'Venue' has a different connotation, Benita. It's primary use (no.1) is in relation to Law. It's more generalized definition (no.2) still retains the notion of a location where an action or event takes place. In RIP's example, there is no action to be emphasizied at the meeting place.
