Help with these questions please WHICH WORD TO USE?

Please help me correct these sentences?
  • I have another 10 pages to go before/until I'm done with the book.
  • I don't care as much for him as I do for her/I don't care for him as much as her.
  • He 's advanced/precocious for his age.
  • The president has made an appearance because he wants publicity. (WANT?)
  • When is the next train scheduled to pull in?
  • I want Friday to pass by so fast that It passes by so slowly. I just can't wait to go home. (how to say this?)
  • I adjusted the knot to the maximum the nexklace can be bigger.

Sometimes the shorter the better. I have 10 more pages to finish the book. I'm not good enough to improve the other sentences.
