Help with the meaning

Hello everyone Emotion: smile

I would be grateful if someone could help me understand a couple of sentences from a text.

"Rock Choir is, by all accounts, 'something big'. With seven and a half thousand members nationwide, the choir has held a three-album record deal and in May, filled out Wembley Arena to give a special performance to 3,500 spectators."

Does this in bold mean that they have signed three contracts (in a row) with a record company or what? It's the verb 'hold' that confuses me.

"It's precisely this sort of experience - among both teachers and pupils - that accounts for the choir's rapid success. May's appearance at Wembley was typical of Rock Choir: over the years, it's pulled off a host of similar stunts - from flash mobs to Guinness World Records. The next project will be even bigger...."

I haven't got the slightest idea what this bold part of the sentence means. Emotion: thinking

Thank you very much in advance.

A "three-album record deal" is a contract with a record comany to produce three albums over some period of time (an "album" is a collection of songs, traditionally on a vinyl LP or a CD). "held" means something like "possessed", but the phrasing of "has held a three-album record deal" seems slightly vague to me. I suppose it means that this deal existed at some point in the past, but not necessarily now.
