I am comparing soldiers to other occupations, trying to convey the amount of psychological trauma a soldier experiences in contrast to other jobs. Without altering the first half of the sentence (as I'd like it to remain my own), can someone help me complete the last half?

"… is obliged to bear in …"

"… than is endured by …"

As you can see, it's just not clicking for me today. I'm thinking in sentence fragments. Help? Thanks
