Hi...When is it necessary to add a to after the verb help?

If help is in the passive voice, to is needed: We were helped to make the pizza. On the other hand, help doesn't often occur in the passive voice. In the active to is optional.

It’s not necessary in either of your examples. In fact, the sentences are much more natural without it.
