Help with omission of "that"

Which one sounds better?

I am confident that such an opportunity would highly compliment my strengths.

vs.

I am confident such an opportunity would highly compliment my strengths.

As far as the "that" is concerned, either with or without is fine and sounds natural. It is just a matter of personal taste. But, I think the word you are looking for is complement, and not compliment.

But, I think the word you are looking for is complement, and not compliment. The former means to complete or make perfect. The latter means to congratulate. I would leave off the "highly" because something either completes something or it doesn't.
