Help with my paragraph

Let me know the problems in my paragraph, please.

English at school should be always perfect. No one wants to wrong in class, and I am not different. This fear of making mistakes, in classroom, results in advantages and disadvantages. In my first time in the United States, taking English as a Second Language, level 2, I sometimes tried to avoid some words because I was afraid to wrong the pronunciation. For example, I have used the word smart instead of intelligence because I felt more comfortable in speaking smart.
