Help with my Definition Essay Intro Paragraph

Hi this is my first time posting. I am having trouble starting my Definition Essay paragraph. We were told to pick a word that today's youth use and write our essay. I picked the word tight, but am not sure if I have clearly stated my thesis. This is for English 101. Any feedback would be welcomed. This is the rough draft of my first paragraph.

“Mrs. Seechoma your outfit is really tight”, one of the students at school said to me as I walked down the hall. I was horrified! I know I have gained some weight lately but I thought my outfit looked nice. It wasn’t until later at home after talking to my two teenage daughters; I discovered that the student meant the word “tight” as a compliment and not the dreadful insult I had imagined. The word tight has become the latest code word that today’s youth has changed the meaning of.
