Help with Middle English
Hi!
I am new here, but came across this forum while searching for information on middle english. I am writing a fiction piece in my spare time, and would really appreciate it if you could offer any suggestions on books or websites, that offer some kind of translation facility.
Its a science fiction piece, but my heroine, finds herself in England, late 12th century. I intend her to eventually learn the language, but I want to demonstrate a transitional period where she is having to learn and overcome, the differences between Modern and Middle English.

In the event that you find an online translator by Googling, it is unlikely that it will provide accurate translations into Middle English. The translators available into modern languages are not very reliable. If you don't believe me take a text from, say, German and copy and paste it into a translator and see what you end up with.

I am not sure that I would need to satisfy experts so as much as I would love to learn Middle English (although where that would be possible, who knows), its not really necessary at this stage. I really only need a small amount to get the character going, and just to add a flavour of authenticity to the story.
