It has been said that homemade cookies are delicious and a favorite among families and friends all across the world. Also homemade chocolate chip cookies make wonderful gifts during the holiday season, or for any special occasion. The fresh smell of homemade cookies just taken out of the
oven makes everyone think about happy things in their life. Cookies are very popular because of it is sweet, very tasty and our taste buds crave for them. In every family it is common after dinner that everyone wants and enjoys a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Let it be known, however, that without the proper
equipment and directions, the great American snack is nothing more than a bag of cookie dough. There are three simple steps to creating homemade cookies from scratch.
First step to make homemade cookies from scratch is to gather all the ingredients and equipment that will be used to make the cookies. The ingredients needed are white and brown
sugar, flour, vanilla extract, salt, baking soda, butter,
chocolate chips, and eggs. The equipment that will be needed is a mixing bowl, a large spoon, electric mixer,
blender, cookie sheets and a oven. After all the equipment is gathered check to make sure that everything works properly if something doesn’t work replace it before you start. Also at the same time preheat the oven to 375 degrees
Fahrenheit so that it will be the perfect temperature when it’s time to bake the cookies. Next measure how much ingredients you will use. One will need the following amount of ingredients ½ cup of white sugar, ¼ cup of brown sugar, one cup of flour, ½
teaspoon of baking soda, and 1 cup of chocolate chips.. Now it’s time to make the dough.
Second step to make homemade cookies is to make the dough. To make the dough start by gathering two large mixing bowls. In the first bowl mix together the vanilla extract, water, and the cracked eggs. In the other bowl combine the rest of the ngredients together. Next, dump the first bowl into the second bowl this allows it to merge gradually. Now stir the bowl together for three to four minutes, which is when the combination starts resembling cookie dough. Then add chocolate chips and milk to the dough to make sure that it’s soft and sweet. To be sure that the dough is mixed properly, check that the consistency is free of dry ingredient clumps, and that the chocolate chips are evenly distributed.
The final step to make homemade cookies is to place the dough on a cookie sheet and place in the oven. The oven should be ready to bake. But first, if the oven has a thermometer check that the temperature is correct if it isn’t preheat the oven some more in order to reach 375
degrees Fahrenheit. When the oven is ready gather a baking sheet and a spoon. Grease the baking pan, by covering it with aluminum foil and/or spreading butter over the top, this prevents the cookies from sticking to the sheet when they are done. Now spoon out a lump of batter, and drop it onto the sheet. The lumps should be two inches apart, so that they do not bake and stick together. Each sheet holds twelve cookies. Put the full sheet in the oven leave the cookies in for ten to twelve minutes. Test if they are done, when one is able to stick a tooth pick into a cookie and there isn’t any residue left on the toothpick then the cookies are done. If theirs residue on the toothpick bake a couple extra minutes. Finally, take the cookies out the oven immediately so they do not overcook , then let them cool then you eat.
Making cookies can be very difficult but if the directions are followed correctly it will be less work in the end. Without directions making cookies could be the same as making chicken parmesan for five which is very difficult to prepare especially without direction. Following directions make life easy because we know exactly what to do and how much to use but without it we would be in a world of trouble trying to make dinner for our families.
