help with grammar

Is the following sentence grammatically correct?

"I understand you have certain limitations, but I shall greatly appreciate if out of all available dates i have given you, preference may be given to August 1."

Correct grammar is
eg "I understand you have certain limitations, but I would greatly appreciate it if, out of all the available dates i have given you, preference can be given to August 1."

But a native speaker would say something simpler.
eg I am sure you are very busy, but I would prefer August 1st if that is convenient for you."
