Help with grammar.

Hi, can someone read the short paragraph below. I wrote it for my blog? I want to know if I've any grammar mistakes. Thank you.

I wanted to start a blog for a long time, but I never seem to find the time. I always had some excuse: My job, housecleaning, dealing with a family member who has dementia--life. No more excuses. Today I started my blog. I love to read. My favorite books are Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, Julie Kagawa, J. A. Konrath, Elizabeth Vaughan, Terri Blackstock, Colleen Thompson, Ilona Andrews, Rachel Vincent, Patrick Rothfuss. These are just a few of my favorites authors.

Good catch, Rover! I usually tend to jump to the end when I've got to the meat of a query.

Hi Philip:

just bit confused in this situation.

he or she used to have excuse to not blogging, but now he or she starts to write blog eventually. There are No more excuse. So why we use " I have had excuse "instead of "I had excuse"?

cluless actually wrote 'I always had some excuse'.

This means she could always find a reason for not starting her blog.

(I'm guessing cluless is female as the authors named are all female except for Jack Konrath. I stand to be corrected.)
