Help with a question on sentence formation

Hi all,

I am doing an exercise on sentence formation/improvement wherein i am facing difficulty in understanding the usage of the word unless. The question is as follows:

Q:He won't hear you provided you shout. (replace the underlined text if required)

Options:

  1. unless
  2. in case
  3. as long as
  4. no improvement

My understanding of the above is that the sentence is negative (won't), option 1 which happens to be the correct answer as per the book would mean that the sentence becomes double negative.

Please help me understand how option 1 can be a correct answer.
