Help with a puzzle I've been trying to work out..
3 men walk into a hotel.
There is only one room left and it is 30 pounds.
The men decide to pay 10 pounds each.
Later on the manager decides it was too much to charge them so he takes 5 pounds out of the 30.
But then he decides that since you can't split
5 pounds evenly between 3 people, he takes 2 pounds out and puts it back in his pocket and gives each man a pound back.
So now each man has actually only paid 9 pounds each.
so, 9 times 3 equals 27
27 plus the 2 pounds in the managers pocket, is only 29.
where did the other pound go???

The £2 is included in the £27. I mean the £2 in the manager's pocket has to come from somewhere, right? So it has to come out of the £27. That's how I see it anyway.

take that 30 lbs and minus the 5 the manager took back leaves them with 25 lbs. take the 25 lbs add the 3 lbs the manager gave back that makes it 28 (not 27) plus the 2 in his pocket =30
