Help w/ a few sentences

I was talking with my mom on the phone. Is this sentence useable? Or

I was talking on the phone w/ my mom.

I tend to get wild when I get intoxicated. Is this sentence ok?

"Intoxicated" is fairly high-brow word. Use "drunk."

I keep thinking:

I was talking with my mom on the phone is incorrect for some reason.

Shouldn't it be:

I was talking on the phone with my mom?
