Help to paraphrase two sentences

These are simple sentences written in a CV.But I want to make them sound more colloquial or more native. The sentence is "Now I have no class to attend and I have relatives in Shanghai, so I can stay in Shanghai during my internship."

Another one is "I'm not from a famous school, but I'm not midiocre.I hope you can offer me a chance to show myself.

Thanks a million!

I am not currently attending any classes and as I have relatives in Shanghai I will have accommodation in Shanghai during my internship. Although my school is not well-known, I am proud to have studied there and gained my qualifications. I look forward to the possibility of meeting with you to discuss my application further.
