Hi AlpheccaStars, Thank you very much for answering. My doubt is that your sentence as well as mine suggests two opposite meanings:
1. He joined the post.But not for all the tea in china(or for any undue gains ) as he was dead honest.
2.He he did not join the post. Because he saw something wrong.
pl help remove my doubt.

You don't 'join' a post. You accept it, or take it.

Moe commonly we say 'job' or 'position' instead of 'post'.
