Help on the use of English article

Hi. Please help me with these.

1. In the minibook written by Kenneth E. Hagin, How You Can Know The Will of God, from Faith Library Publications, page 50, it has this sentence at the top of the page:

If we were to wait until we saw a vision or heard the audible voice of the Lord, we would miss these other things that are not as distinct, but are just as real.

Q: What would be the difference if we had "heard an audible voice of the Lord" instead what is there, which is "heard the audible voice of the Lord"?

2. On the same page, page 50, in the following/next paragraph, a couple of sentences down, there is this sentence:

Primarily, it will be by the inward witness; then by the inward voice; and then by these other ways as He wills (not as you will).

Q: What would be the difference if the phrases "the inward witness" and "the inward voice" in the sentence above were instead these: "an inward witness" and "an inward voice"?
