Please help me with this question. Thanks

The result is a layered city, with each tier holding information about a part of Russia's past. In some areas of the city, archaelogists have reached the layer from 1147, the year of Moscow's founding. Among the findings from the various periods of Moscow's history are carved bones, metal tools, pottery, glass, jewellery, and crosses.
From the passage, the reader can infer that
A) the people of Moscow are more interested in modernisation than in preservation.
B) The Soviet government destroyed many of the historic buildings in Russia.
C) Moscow is the oldest large city in Russia, founded in 1147.
D) Moscow has a history of invasions, with each new conqueror razing past structures.
To me, there's no accurate answer. A is definitely out. 'Soviet government' is not mentioned, and the option B implies that the historic buildings are destroyed deliberately, which is not what is suggested by the passage. 'Moscow is the oldest large city' is not mentioned in the passage, so I believe C is out. 'History of invasions, new conquerors' are definitely not pointed out in the passage. Periods of war do not necessarily mean there are invasions by other countries and conquerors, right? (Don't mind Russia's history)

Invasions do not necessarily mean other countries, no – but then, other countries are not mentioned in D; just invasions, which could simply come from other areas of Russia.
