When you were painting your rented apartment, you accidentally damaged something in one of the rooms. Write to your landlord, explaining the reason for writing the letter and how the whole thing happened. Finally, you should suggest how you can compensate for the damages.

Dear Mr White,

I am writing to apologize about property damage in the apartment at Black Stone Street.

I rented this apartment two days ago, and as we talked yesterday over the phone, I am going to have the apartment painted since the old painting on walls are faded out and covered with dirt. However, when I started work on the living room, I broke the glass cover on the frame that used to hang on the wall. I was trying to take it away from the wall to avoid it to be painted, but it slipped out of my hand and the glass cover on the frame was broken.

I just want you to know that I didn’t break it intentionally, and I am really sorry about what I have done. I really want to make it up for you, so here are proposals that I can think of at this moment:

1)I could bring it into a frame store and replace the glass cover.
2)You can have it fixed, and I will pay for it.

Or if you have any other options, please let me know, and I will consider about them.

Again, I am sorry about the damage I made. I am looking forward to hear from you about my proposals or your suggestions.
