Help needed reagarding active causative?

Hi! everyone.I saw this phrase in the subtitles(english) while a program being run on T.V,which was actually in polish language and I saw this phrase -:Get this thought possess her mind.
I want to know that can we use get/have any non-living thing or thought to do something?

It does not make any sense to me. Are you sure that you have cited it correctly?

Maybe this:
She had this thought and it possessed her mind.

(Sounds like science fiction or hypnosis.)

Yes. Well, not any non-living thing, but some. It's easier to write a sentence like that with 'get'
