Help needed : A general thank you letter to few departments and also VIP

My club had organized a tournament in school. Now the event is over and i would like to write thank you letter to a few departments of the school to show the organizing committee's appreciation of the help/services that they had provided (e.g borrowing equipments,arranging venue etc.)

I've tried to write on the letter...can somebody help me to make it sounds better? or help me to write a new one if mine is too bad? Thanks in advance~

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to thank you for the support that your department gave to the *** Tournament on 14th and 15th of February 2004.

2. The two days tournament was a successful one. It is a joy that we had achieved the objectives of having the tournament. In fact, the participants from various universities/colleges did enjoy themselves in this tournament. Without the support of your departmentm I belive that the tournament would not be such a smooth one. We truely appreciate your department's contribution to the tournament.

3. Lastly, we would like to thank you again for helping to make this tournament a great event. We hope that we can have your support again in the future for the similar event.
