'So you're not just in it for the money?'

'No. Have I given you a different/another impression?' / 'No. Did I give you a different/another impression?' 'We've been friends for a year. You should know me better by now.'

Which of these? And why? Plus, are 'a different impression' and 'another impression' interchangeable in this context? (I know I could just say 'that impression', but that's not what I'm looking for)

Thank you. I appreciate your time.

Tom: 'So you're not just in it for the money?'

Mary: 'No. Have I given you a different/another impression?' / 'No. Did I give you a different/another impression?' 'We've been friends for a year. You should know me better by now.'

The conversation begins with Tom describing his impression. It's natural for Mary to then speak about that impression

No, you're right, that doesn't make much sense. I think I'm just gonna go with 'that impression'.

Thank you for your patience.
