Hello!
If I had a signature ring, and there would be a word or a sentance carved on it (to leave a signature)
the proper verb would be "it reads..." "it says..." or what?

To me, both are correct, but I'd use "it reads...".

I think the verb “inscribe” would be more accurate. You can say, “the signature ring has the words ……… inscribed on it”
