0HI I am not sure if this sounds bad but want peoples help! here is what i have:02br 02br 00############02br 02br 00To Whom It May Concern:02br 02br 02br 02br 00This message is being sent to you from a very concerned citizen of the State of 01b00,02b00 00.00I am sending you this email today to bring something to your attention that needs to be addressed, not tomorrow or sometime in the future but today00.02br 02br 00.02br 00My concern 00has00 to do with UF&Shands.02br 02br 00Dealing with Shands has 01b00become02b00 one of the worst and hardest things to do. Shands has been known in many communities as a “00”. UF&Shands claims they take takes care of the less fortunate but does not provide 01b00enough02b00 adequate care and then, in some cases, does nothing in order to prevent a death.02br 02br 00Candi Scott, a 004500 year old 00citizen of00 00,00 00 was swimming in the 00 and somehow got that horrible bacterial infection;00.00 Once she started to have major problems she went to Shands to get medical treatment because she heard it was such a great hospital (or so she thought), instead she was treated horribly by the medical staff. As a result of Shands inability to treat her, Mrs. Scott later died at another hospital. We have found out that her death could have been prevented if Shands would have used proper medical procedures, didn’t call her a faker and 00had00 00taken her back to see a doctor right away.02br 02br 00 Mrs. Scott’s case isn’t the only one; its one of many. Hundreds of people have claimed that their loved one died as a result of 00S00hands negligence. Did you know that a 01b00Central Florida couple has filed a $5 million lawsuit against 00 00 at the 00, alleging their daughter was one of 10 premature babies given HIV-infected blood in 1983?02b02br 02br 02br 00 Shannon McCants a registered pharmacist was shot to death while working at Shands because she didn’t provide adequate services which in reality was unfortunate but what does Shands do to help with security of its employees and patients? Absolutely nothing, as a matter of fact now people have been forced to wait outside of the pharmacy which in reality will cause a lot of more problems02br 02br 00Patients have also complained that when calling into “The Refill Line” they go to pick them up @ shands but there not available. 00 00Shands doesn’t notify the patients but the call in systems requests you provide them with a phone number. “I 00came out of the pharmacy literally in tears one day. I had been there for over two hours, standing, waiting in line, only to get up to the window to be told, "Sorry, we're out of your prescription." This was the third month in a row. I had to take three busses to get there and having to make two to three trips a month to get one prescription was just asking too much.” 00 00Said one angry Shands patient. As a result of this incident she was told she had to make an appointment to see any supervisor.02br 02br 02br 00I think its time that government officials look into the things that go on at 00S00hands from the long wait times, especially in the emergency department for critically 00ill00 00people that need immediate assistance, to the long wait times in the actual doctor’s office and you will see for yourself that something needs to be done.02br 02br 02br 02br 00If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me directly;02br 02br 00####02br 02br 00Can someone assist me?? 0-

0I am disgusted and appalled by the fact that you would use this young woman's death as a forum for a petition for the hospital to be improved. I did not know her personally, but in your statement, you have shifted the blame from a murderer to Mrs. McCants. Even if Ms. McCants did provide less than adequate service to her would-be killer (which by all media accounts I have read, she asked the
I am a friend of the family and no one desires to be murdered. Shannon was doing her job and trying to handle a woman w/mental issues. If you have worked with the public, you know that you have to handle this with care. The woman was told that she could not skip in the line and asked to go to the back of the line and she would be serviced. For far to long, pharmacist get a bad name, but the r
