The graph compares the differences in population growth between the two Asia countries namely India and China from 2000 and illustrates a prediction until 2050.

Overall, population sizes of both countries experienced upward trends until the year of 2017, however, there will be some changes in the figures of the following period.

Over a seventeen-year period from 2000, China had a gradual increase of nearly 0.15 billion, rising from 1.25 to just over 1.40 in 2017. Meanwhile, population growth in India made a significant rise, from the lowest point of 1 billion hit the 1.30 mark at the end of the period.

In more than thirty years latter, India’s population figure is predicted to follow an above trend development and catch up with the China’s growth in 2030 with 1.45 billion people. From this year on, population size continues growing and climbs up to 1600 billion in 2050. On the contrary, in the next eight years, figure of China is set to hover around the 1.45 mark, then is followed by a steady decline of 0.25 billion per year and ends the period with the population of 1.40 billion.
