There are 2 schools of thought about choosing the best way to learn about life. Some believe that we have to listen carefully to what our family members and friends say. Others think that we have to personally experience many things. Compare the advantages of these two approaches. What is your preference? Give specific examples and details to support your opinion.
There are many ways to learn about life. Some believe that we have to listen carefully to what our family members and friends say. Others want to learn from their personal experiences. I have got some life lessons with both kinds of these types and I think they have their own advantages. I personally prefer learning through personal experiences.
Listening carefully to what our family members and friends say helps us avoid mistakes without going through them and then we can have an easier life. Indeed, our parents have gone through many difficulties so they know what we should or should not do, we can learn from their experiences quickly. I have a friend, she is very obedient to her parents. She applies exactly what her parents taught her in life. In addition, she also listens carefully to her friends’ experiences to have more advice. From these things, she can avoid falling into traps. This helps her have an easier life than others. She is in the safe zone of life.
On the other hand, learning from your own experiences helps you have more chances to succeed and be calmer when encountering unexpected problems. People said “failure teaches success” which means when you come to terms with many failures in your life, you will earn a lot of experiences by yourself. The more experiences you gain, the more chances you succeed. Besides, if you undergo hard times, you will become calmer before unexpected problems. For example, my other friend had gone through much hard time in his life so he has a lot of his own experiences. He was a CEO of a company but one day his company suddenly went bankrupt. He went from a rich director to a man with nothing in his hand. However, instead of tormenting himself, he kept calm and did not give up. Thanks to this, five years later, he was able to run another larger company. He has earned a lot of his own experiences.
To sum up, listening carefully to what our family members and friends say or learning from your own experiences have their own upsides. Based on what I experienced, I strongly prefer to personally experience many things.
