The main purpose of running a business is to generate revenues for its owner. Some people said there is nothing that a business should not do in order to make a profit. I disagree with this claim because of the following reasons.
First, businesses are only allowed to launch legal products and services products. If a business creates illegal products for high profit, it will not survive in the market sustainably. In addition, the leaders will take responsibility for these actions such as compensating victims, being jailed for their crimes, and so on.
Besides, a business should create value for society in addition to generating its profits. Indeed, it is also necessary for a business to support difficult problems like supporting orphans or building schools for children in remote areas. Those things still exist in the society of the country in which the business is operating. Those contributions will be recognized by the poor and the government. They will bring reputation to the company and the company's business activities will be famous around the country. This helps products of the company to be sold widely.
The last thing is environmental protection. Besides creating value for the company, business owners must also pay attention to the problem of environmental pollution. Environmental protection is not only the activity that brings the company's reputation, it also creates the consciousness of an enterprise. If a company is aware of the significance of protecting the environment, it will have a chance to operate in the market for a long time. That helps the business grow stronger.
To sum up, making a profit is the main task of the businesses but it is not all. Besides creating profits, companies should produce goods that obey the law, bring benefits to society and attend to environmental protection.
