the bar chart compares the figures of Americans having heart attacks on a yearly basis based on genders and age groups.

I can be seen that the risk of heart attack increases as people grow older and men are prone to gave heart attacks than of women.

Looking at the information in more detail, we can see that people in the age range of 29-44 have the lowest rate of heart attacks. On average, heart attacks among males are 123 thousand whereas the figures recorded for females are 3 thousand each year. However, the 45-64 age group experienced a dramatic growth. While there are 424 thousand men who suffer heart attacks a year, the similar medical situation in women was lower threefold, with 136 thousand cases.

The rate for the oldest age group which consists of people aged 65 or over reaches to its highest point, with the figures for male and female reaching 440 and 434 thousand, respectively.
