Help me with clauses and sentence structure

Please identify what type of sentences these are example compound, complex, simple, compound-complex

1. Many students in the eighth grade love Fruit Loops for breakfast on Saturdays.

2. Norbert misses his neighbors from Nebraska when he goes to the Ozarks.

3. Harold holds his frogs tightly, but they slip away from him anyway.

4. In addition to many touchdowns after the very clever plays from the defensive lineman, the quarterback found a large hole in the line and dashed through it for seven more points.

5. Before the show started, Billy bought a huge container of popcorn, and Bertha ate most of it because she loves butter.

6. Because of the scary movie, we stayed under the covers and shivered until the dawn of day.

7. Because Bertha earned an excellent grade on her grammar test, her Aunt Sally took her shopping and bought her some bubblegum.

8. If you listen to the crickets in the early evening, you will learn a new language, and the little night creatures will be very happy.

Up the tree and onto a long branch scurried a furry grey squirrel and a spotted chipmunk.

however 4 isn't after the very clever plays from the defensive lineman anadverb clause aka dependent clause

This i believe this sentence is a complex: Up the tree and onto a long branch scurried a furry grey squirrel and a spotted chipmunk.

No. after ... plays has the same structure as after the party or after the war. They are all phrases, not clauses. You need a verb to have a clause, and there is no verb in after the very clever plays from the defensi
