Help me to comprehend

After a meeting, a women said that: "where does that leave us?"

I do not know how to comprehend the sentence. And it confuse me by using the word "where".

'Where does that leave us?' means 'what is the status of our relationship now?', or 'what is the effect of the meeting's outcome?', or simply 'what is our current situation (as a result of the meeting)?'

'Where does that leave us?' is sometimes said in a tone of comic bewilderment or exasperation after a meeting.

On these occasions, the implication is: 'I know that meeting was meant to make things clearer, but it's left me more confused than ever!'
