Abstract: the failure of finding the separator “STOP A” position during on-power fuelling with the fuelling machine has frequently appeared since the plant started operations, which risks the on-power fuelling job. In order to solve the problem of finding “STOP A” position failure, through the study of “STOP A” position calibration method and the causes of the failure, and by using the separator position dedicated calibration tool on FMTR(fuelling machine test rig) to measure the retractor potentiometer voltage change caused by moving the inserted feeler 0.084in horizontally and by the two sided inserted feelers are not in a plane, improve the calibration method by adding a uncertain voltage value ?U based on the calibration on FMTR to the setpoint of the retractor “back” position setpoint instead of a constant value. Using the new calibration method , the frequency of finding the “STOP A” position failure has been dramatically lowed and the situation has been effectively improved.

Then we improve the calibration method according to the voltage measurement. The improvement of calibration is that we add a unconstant voltage (?U) to the setpoint of "BACK" position instead of a constant one.
