It is argued that people’s success is mostly attributable to a question of luck rather than hard work and determination. I completely disagree with this view.
On the one hand, I advocate the notion that the role of being industrious and determined are far more significant than luck. Thomas Edison is an excellent example of was produced; and his hard work, rather than luck, was acknowledged by all the human race. Another clear example of this notion is the case of Nick Vujicic. He is a disabled man whose both hands and legs were lost , but made an effort to gain double degrees in accounting and financial planning. As a result, he is currently becoming a great man who has drawn a lot of inspirations to the young all over the world.
On the other hand, I believe that success does not depend on fortune. First, people can not be dependable on luck to be successful. It is evident that students who only rely on luck in order to pass the examination would definitely meet the failures. Second, it goes without saying that luck only helps people to achieve short term goals rather than long term ones. For example, a person who wins a lottery is definitely lucky, but it is not a certainty that he or she can win fortunately for the rest of his or her life.
In sum, I am of the opinion that people should not rely on luck to become successful since hard word and determination instead of luck are by no means the key factors of success.
