Hi.
He moves through the open glass doors into the enormous living room where he turns the light on to reveal several pieces of clothing scattered across the floor; his brand new flatscreen TV lying cut in half on the sofa; and his now soon to be ex-wife's wedding ring left on the coffee table.
Where should I put comma/commas in the first part of the sentence?
And is the use of semicolons in the second part correct?
Thanks for your time.
I see no need for semicolons. I suggest: He moves through the open glass doors into the enormous living room, where he turns on the light to reveal several pieces of clothing scattered across the floor, his brand new flatscreen TV lying cut in half on the sofa, and his now soon to be ex-wife's wedding ring left on the coffee table. Stylistically I prefer "turns on the light to reveal" to "turns the light on to reveal", but this is just my personal opinion.
