Dear Sir or Madame,



I would like to apply for a Master program Molecular Life Science and for financial support of the University of ****.

My aim is to be a key scientist and be fully qualified to conduct research in area of Molecular Biology, particularly in Molecular Genetics. Therefore I would like to gain deep theoretical knowledge and practical experience in Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics and Cell biology. I believe University of *** with an interdisciplinary Master degree course in Cell&Molecular Biology along with its International Scholarship Program is the best place to achieve my career objectives.



I am a graduate of ***. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1999 and a Master’s degree in Physiology in 2001. I completed my bachelor as well as master thesis with a highest grade. Then, I joined a research group supported by **** at the Biological Centre of *** University. I was introduced into Molecular Biology and recombinant DNA technologies. From October 2005 to July 2006 I was a guest student at the ***, where I attended some theoretical courses and had the opportunity to obtain high level practical experience in experimental biology. Thus I gained a very valuable experience. These abroad studies aroused my interest in the field of Molecular and Cell Biology. I found that Molecular Biology especially Molecular Genetics is very interesting and exciting, because my aspirations as a scientist is to understand the genome organisation of the cell as well as to investigate different gene regulation mechanisms which will provide more insights into gene therapy. The gene therapy, as a form of molecular medicine, has the potential to significantly influence the human health in this century. It holds the promise to provide new treatments for a large number of inherited as well as acquired diseases and I believe it will play an essential role in future therapies.

However, there are some efforts to improve the quality of higher education in my country, the studies and research in these fields are still to come in the future. I have a very strong desire to pursue a career in Molecular Biology and I decided to continue my studies in this area and receive MSc and further PhD degrees. Due to low income in our country, there is no possibility to follow an abroad study without financial support from external fund.

I am fully confident that I have sufficient qualification and experience as well as language proficiency, both in German and English, to successfully graduate with the Master’s degree in Molecular and Cell biology. I strongly believe that the Master course Molecular Life Science will give me the opportunity to gain high level qualification, extend my knowledge and significantly influence my future career to be very successful scientist at national as well as at international level.
