Could you please help to define the differences among "Few and far between", "the few", and "to name but a few"?

The differences are very clear. Few and far between means "rare" e.g. Rare Roman coins like that are few and far between. The few refers to a small specific amount e.g. There weren't many people at the party, but the few that did show up all had a good time.
