00Students who are sitting in front of the desk, it is always full of books. For me, I feel comfortable when messing with books. It is easy to find books for me. But most of people include my mom, don00’00t like the messy desk. It00’00s one of the excuses to defense myself.02p

00I thought it this way. How can I get to the books more easily on the desk without looking for it an hour or so? How about collecting often-use-books in one spot so I can get them fast? Also, using as a bookend on the desk.02p

00When processing a bookrack & book divider design, I got this idea. I did some sketches and the first sketch was going to the end at last. I used a chair to be the spot. According to the research, most of chairs in the room are the swivel-chairs or the armchairs for whom spend much time at the desk. The point was the arm of chairs. I wanted to put books as many as I can if there00’00s no over pressure on chairs. The arm of chairs had similar size of all. So I designed this bookrack for chairs. It hangs on the arm of a chair so users can get close to the books easily.02p

00The principle to make this possible was the angle and the distance of chairs. The angle and the distance were based on the ergonometric. I checked chairs as many as I can.02p

00Then I found the magic numbers of the structure. The size of arm is 4-8 centimeters. The distance between the top of arm and the hip pad is 20-23 centimeters. And the angle of the arm00’00s outside edge and the edge of the hip pad at the front view is 12-15 degrees. I made this product using these numbers.02p

00The most important part is the hanging part. I was thinking about attaching rubber-coated to the inside of hanging part for friction to hook. Straps for hanging tight, etc. but the design structure had the principle of its hanging process. It hangs the inside of the arm and the bottom of the product leans against the pad of its cushion. So the size of the hook didn00’00t matter. It needed only a least size to hang. The size of hook is about 1-2 centimeters.02p

00I made with stainless steal. But it is quiet heavy than I thought. It could be lighter using the plastic material and can change the colors. And what if it folds out somehow then users can bring it, so as to use anywhere the arms or the place can be hanged.02p
