Help me paraphrase this.

Hi

I'd like to rephrase the below with "has" directly followed by "the sense". Could you please check 1-5 below?

"set" above has something of the sense it has in "Sally set a chair by the bed."

(1) "set" has the(?) sense of that (as?) in "Sally .... " - Is the use of article correct? / Do I need 'as' here?

(2) "set" has a sense of that which is similar to that in "Sally ... " - Is this correct?

(3) "set" has a sense as in "Sally ..."

(4) "set" has a sense as that in "Sally ...."

(5) "set" has a sense as is used in "Sally ..."

Please forgive me if I tired you with my horrible English.Emotion: crying

Could you indicate acceptable ones if any, and provide some good examples of your own?

Thank you.

It would be better if you at least completed your sentences; I cannot judge accurately with fragments. Nor am I sure what you are attempting. What does 'above' mean in your red sentence?

Hi Mister Micawber
Yeah, I'm sorry I can see why you are confused by it.
I was thinking of a context where the original, bold(red) sentence explains the meaning of a word(to set) in light of other example it is used in. I shouldn't have put in 'above' you pointed out. Sorry..

The verb 'set' in this case has something of the sense that it has in "he’ll set a man to watch you"

Okay, I'll make it simple.

X has something of the sense it has in Y

(X is a word, and Y is an example sentence)

(1) X has the(?) sense of that (as?) in Y. ( Is the use of article correct? / Do I need 'as' here?)

(2) X has a sense of that which is similar to that in Y

(3) X has a sense as in Y.

These are correct grammars of sentences essentially synonymous with your original blue sentence:

(1) X has some of the sense of that in Y.
(2) X has some sense which is similar to that in Y
(3) X has some sense of Y.
(4) X has part of the sense in Y.
(5) X has some of the sense used in Y.
