Help me out on this one

Friends, please bear with me. I know I ask a lot of questions.

Which sentence is clearer and structurally/grammatically correct?

"To excel in my profession of writing articles for clients and to submit them witin the specified period of time."

OR

""To excel in my profession of writing articles for clients by submitting them within the specified period of time."

Both sound okay to me. But I have a feeling that the first one is more vague than the second. Is it not? Or maybe both sentences are just fine. Comments and analysis please.. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
