My name is Rebecca Johnson and the reason why I am contacting you is because I was unable to reach my questions to Mr Carling on his Website by email, because I encountered technical problems with my computer. I should be extremely grateful if you could send this letter to him, because there is one question I would like to ask him.
I am a huge fan of his work, especially the beautifully acclaimed ‘The Dimond Rose’ it is my favourite play of all time. I discovered and started watching his plays when I found out that The Dimond Rose won the Dream award back in 2001. To be fairly honest I disliked the play when I first watched it, because I thought it was weird and complicated to understand. After I finished watching the play I realised how much I missed the characters and wanted to learn more about them.
I understand that there is going to be a huge production of The Dimond Rose. I am really excited about the news and I cannot wait to see the play. It is going to be my anticipated play for 2006.
My question I would like to ask you is ‘when and were will there be auditions for the casting of Sally Heaven. I would like a chance to audition because like most other girls who have read the book would love to play the part of Sally. I do have some great characteristics, which I think you should consider. I am 18 years old (however I do look very young for my age), which means that I can work for longer hours. I will finish my studies in May this year; therefore my education will not interfere with the production. The list below are other characteristics the resemble the character Sally.
? My height is 5ft 3. ? My weight is just over 7 stones ? I have natural blonde hair ? I have blue eyes
I have some acting experiences at my school production and concerts. I have also produce and performed in two plays with my friends for the residence of my neighbourhood to raise money for charity, which I am extremely proud of.
The reason why I would love to be in the adaptation of the Dimond Rose is because it is my favourite play and it would be exciting and a dream come true. Furthermore, I would like to prove to my friends, family and also myself that I am more than just what they see and think of me.
I apologise if you are asked this question many times, but I would hate to miss out on auditions for a great opportunity.
Yours faithfully,
Miss Johnson
