What strange vocabulary Berth, Archie I really was confused until I found out that Berth means bed and Archie means person. As I read on it seemed like lots of the vocabulary was pirate like. I wonder why there is a handle pump in the boats bathroom?

In the cabin when it was time for Luke to go to bed I was surprised when Luke told Will how he got on the ship. It all started when a kid from school put a gun in his school bag and the student that put the gun in his bag told the teacher which lead to Luke facing to go upon a judge who sentenced him to the ship. I think Luke is a nice boy because he even said in his mind and he told his friend and for Luke to do that it show’s me that he’s honest because he’s telling the truth.

I can picture J.J. sitting on the dock on an old lounge chair that lay colorless as he imagined all of the girls on the boat coming up to him in bikini’s as he drank his cold Iced tea that looks refreshing. I also imagined J.J. showing everyone his birthday watch he got from Madonna that was gold shiny and had diamonds. The smile that I picture on his face looks like he controls the world. I still can’t stand that self-centered J.J.

Will and lyssa who are Luke’s friends are very violent. They had severely beaten each other at the Halloween party were they had gone to the hospital with cuts and bruises all over their body. When they were at the hospital the nurse told their parents all about Charting a new course and how her nephew went on the boat and had came back with a fresh new attitude. I wonder what caused them to beat each other up so badly?

Ian reminds me of Cody from Cody unplugged. He reminds me of Cody because he watches lots of tv and he hates getting off of the coach and going out. I think Ian is very shy and quiet because he never talks and he always lurks in the shadows.

When Mr. Radford said there was going to be a harsh storm I had though something mild. But when the storm hit I was appalled at the amount of impact the rain had brought to the ship. Half of the ship was filled with water and the children had to pump the water to get the water out I think they won’t succeed because it’s way to much work.

I think that the kids on the ship will go and get the safety raft from J.J. I think that the kids will do this because it would be a smart move because the ship is about to sink and if they use the raft they can be safe from other aquatic animals such as sharks. I also think that the ship will sink and they will use the raft because each day the crew wakes up and the water spreads through out the cabin and it gets worse every day.

Now I can see what charting a new course is all about. Luke had a troubled past but now the program teaches children hard labor and the reality of life so it could teach a lesson. That’s why Mr. Radford pushed the children so hard and it paid off when they needed to use the raft and use teamwork.

Reading about the kids on the raft it reminded me of the time I read the book plane crash in the Atlantic were a group of people were stuck in the middle of the ocean with only life jackets. It was very alarming when one person would have to dangle of the side of the raft because there were to many kids in one small raft. What if a shark got them?

How painful to have sun burns and no protection on the raft and not have any shark bait time in the water. Soon after the crew had gotten swiped up by dolphins and brought to the island. At the island the crew found water and food I was so happy when this happened because it was good to finally see something good happen to the children.
