Help me fix this please Letter of Motivation
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am applying for Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering (COSSE). I would like to present my reasons for choosing this program and to provide my academic background.
I attended Kasetsart University in order to pursue my Aerospace Engineering Degree. I spent 3 years and then continued studying at RMIT University for 1 and a half year. I studied various courses involving computer simulation such as Finite Element and Advance computational method (Nonlinear Analysis with ABAQUS). During the study I interned at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. My role was Wind-Turbine Laboratory assistant. At work, I had a chance to use MATLAB and ANSYS to perform my tasks. My thesis topic is Computational simulation and analysis of stall phenomena of an airfoil for Micro wind-turbine application to site-specific wind. The project involved determining the best airfoil shape at the first stage. I designed MATLAB code to find the best Airfoil that suit to the given specific wind conditions. Later on I analyzed the chosen Airfoil in various wind conditions using ANSYS (FLUENT). Stall phenomena was a major concern of my thesis as it would cause severe damage to the wind turbine blade. I got High Distinction and Distinction from this project. My Supervisor and I intended to publish this thesis, unfortunately she got sick for the whole semester. Nevertheless, I did my best and graduated with 1st Class from RMIT University.
After graduation I was chosen by RIIERP to intern at ROBERT BOSCH GmbH (in Germany). I was assigned to work on foil bearings and to design a test rig that would identify structural properties of the bearing. After internship I was frustrated with my qualification. As it wasn’t enough to work in R&D department where I have always wanted to work. That is why I am pursuing my Master Degree.
I am interested in Erasmus Mundus Program COSSE, because I had a passion for simulation. My term- and thesis projects always involved Simulation analysis. I think simulation analysis will become a primary tool in further research and development. Without Simulation analysis, it would be tough and time-consuming to conduct experiments. Besides, I think Erasmus Mundus is a good start for me to achieve my dream (Doctoral Degree). I also wish to learn European culture.
I also wish to study at TU Delft in my second year. I wish to specialize in Computational Fluid Dynamics which is my field of interest. I also interested in Wind energy which is TU Delft the field of specialize. I believe that graduation from both KTH and TU Delft would raise the possibility for my doctoral degree position.
