Help me explain this

I think this has happened to everyone or at least know what I mean?

Could I ask if you could help me write this and if you know what I mean and what I mean by plastic wire?
The charger cord wire of my phone is so long that I used a rubber band to fold it up so it wouldn't be as long. The original little plastic wire used to keep the cord neatly folded slowly kept giving slack until the cord was no longer folded and the plastic thing came undone which is why I have a rubber band now.

Thank you very much

That little "plastic wire" (good description!) is called a twist-tie, at least in the U.S.

How would you write what I wrote in correct English?

How about "The twist tie that came with my phone charger eventually wore out, so now I use a rubber band to control/manage the excess cord length"?
