Some people regard video games as harmless fun, or even as a useful educational tool. Others, however, believe that videos are having an adverse effect on the people who play them. In your opinion, do the drawbacks of video games outweigh the benefits?

It is true that there are more and more people who spend time on playing video games today. While some people consider video games as an entertaining and educational tool, I believe that their drawback outweigh the benefits.

There are several reasons why some people think that video games not only do not do harm to they players, but also help them to broaden their own knowledge. Video games are regarded as a good means of recreation, which can help people to refresh their mind and regain energy effectively. For example, children typically find it therapeutic to release stress after a tiring schoolday by playing video games. Moreover, people could take advantage of video games to learn various important lessons. When a group of players play games together, they will learn how to promote team spirit as well as improve team-working skills.

On the other hand, I strongly believe that video games are likely to have more harmful impact on people playing them. Firstly, being addicted to them is very likely to happen, which results in the decline in physical and mental health. Children who always keep their eyes glued to screens of computers to play games tend to be more prone to obesity and suffer from eye diseases. In that case, the entertaining values of video games are surpassed by such adverse effects. Secondly, the players will be easily distracted from school, work or real life activities. Although they can gain many lessons through video games, such things seem to be meaningless if they cannot be applied in their own life.

In conclusion, although video games could be a good way for people who play them to relax and study, I believe that they have more negative influences than positive ones.
